EUMETSAT is Europe’s meteorological satellite agency. Its role is to establish and operate meteorological satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This information is supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisation's Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide.
EUMETSAT also operates several Copernicus missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users.

Are you a true SAP ERP expert able to concentrate on providing a highly technical support service to internal stakeholders?
EUMETSAT is the European satellite agency for monitoring weather and climate. Bringing together the resources of 30 Member States, we develop and operate a range of satellite systems surveying the atmosphere, ocean and climate that delivers data 24 hours a day. Our data is vital to weather forecasts that protect lives and property, and to monitoring the changing climate. EUMETSAT is now developing the next generation of satellite systems, shaping its long-term future.
We have an internal-facing role for a SAP System Administrator and Technical Co-ordinator, working within our ICT division, to provide a SAP system administration service and co-ordinate system maintenance activities ensuring the smooth running of all of our services. Working in an environment where hosting is outsourced, you would be required to work collaboratively with other SAP functional experts, ICT teams, external hosting developers and SAP Application developers to ensure our technical requirements become a reality.
Along with a university degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline you should have expert experience in SAP and be able to demonstrate the following:
• experience and knowledge in SAP ERP System Administration, Business Intelligence (BI) and Portal Systems
• practical experience in planning and co-ordinating SAP system maintenance activities in an externally-hosted SAP environment
• technical skills in supporting SAP functionality implementations, Support and Enhancement Pack upgrades, and other related life cycle activities
• an ability to prioritise, plan, solve problems and consistently meet deadlines
• excellent communication skills and demonstrated capability to negotiate, resolve conflicts and work co-operatively within a team
• knowledge of incident and change management fundamentals and principles, preferably according to ITIL Standard for Service Management
• a basic knowledge of network technologies, operating systems and supporting datacenter infrastructure.
Some exposure to SAP Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery activities, understanding and experience in SAP Security Implementations and implementation, and operational experience of SAP Solution Manager 7.2 would be seen as beneficial.

This post is graded A2/A3 on the EUMETSAT salary scales. The minimum basic salary for this post is EURO 5,443 per month (net of internal tax) which may be negotiable on the basis of skills and experience. The salary scale provides for increments on the anniversary of taking up employment, and scales are reviewed by the EUMETSAT Council with effect from 1 January each year.
