Xelvin is a specialist in the seconding of enterprising engineers. Xelvin owes its success to one important operating principle: it offers candidates and companies the power of freedom that comes from being able to make a conscious choice.
By being an open organization in which sincerely interested people enjoy a healthy amount of freedom, Xelvin forms a bond of trust that enables people to make conscious choices on their own. Not premeditated choices or ready-made choices that are generated by up-front efficiency processes, but choices that are based on a set of unique factors and could not have been made in any other way. Choices that candidates and companies can, in all honesty, call their own.
Your focus will be on developing emulation models that allow us to optimally test our controls software.
The position
As Java Software Engineer you’ll be responsible for a complete emulation project. Emulation models are 3D simulation models which are linked to real controls software to allow optimal in-house testing of this software. The models can also be used to train the customer in using our software.
Together with the internal customer, you’ll define the specification that the model has to meet. Based on these criteria, you’ll write the Java software for the emulation models. As well as carrying out these projects, you’ll also contribute to the development of the software library. We develop our own framework for producing and implementing these emulation models. You’ll then carry out the improvements that you’ve indicated and initiated in the framework, which means you have a big influence on the end-product.
The department
The Systems Group carries out studies of the logistics performance of the complex systems supplied by us. This is done by system analysts who are responsible for simulation models and analysis, and software engineers who focus on emulation.
Your profile
- BSc (higher vocational education) in a technical area, preferably Computer Science
- Relevante experience in Java and preferably XML
- Good command of English
In this position you’ll be involved with every stage of the software development process, and you’ll need to be able to plan your own work. As well as in-depth knowledge of Java, you’ll have a strong focus on service and a proactive approach. This means you’ll be working right at the heart of our organisation.
