ASML is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of chip-making equipment.
Our vision is to enable affordable microelectronics that improve the quality of life.
To achieve this, our mission is to invent, develop, manufacture and service advanced technology for high-tech lithography, metrology and software solutions for the semiconductor industry.
ASML's guiding principle is continuing Moore's Law towards ever smaller, cheaper, more powerful and energy-efficient semiconductors. This results in increasingly powerful and capable electronics that enable the world to progress within a multitude of fields, including healthcare, technology, communications, energy, mobility, and entertainment.
As an Optics/Imaging Engineer you will be a key player in making the performance of our scanners meet our customer's demands. You will be responsible for predicting imaging performance of our future tools and assess, trouble-shoot and optimize imaging performance of real scanners who have just come into existence.
Job Description
Our customers make computer chips. To do so successfully our scanners need to match the image our customers intend to reproduce on their wafers as closely as possible. The closer the image created by the scanner resembles the intended image, the better the scanner imaging performance.
You will need to develop expertise in how design choices in scanner Hardware and Software and choices in the application (such as scanner settings and resist processes), influence imaging performance. You will need to understand why and how imaging performance is important to our customers.
You will use this knowledge to predict performance in future scanner designs by means of sophisticated simulation tools or you will create tests and analysis tools to assess the performance of scanners and facilitate an effective trouble-shooting process.
Are our latest products capable of what we predicted they would be capable of? If not, how come and how do we fix it as fast and as effective as possible? We will turn to you to answer these questions.
You will be part of a group of people with similar competencies, working together to lift their know-how to new levels year-after-year, making sure to be prepared for challenges ahead.
You will contribute to roadmaps and competence management plans. You will also be part of a project team, working to meet a shared goal against challenging constraints.
Making test plans, carrying out analyses, reporting results and conclusions. Interface with other projects, manufacturing, marketing, customer support and the customer!
Working at ASML as an Imaging Engineer is about being part of a dynamic, fast-paced community, facing unprecedented challenges at the forefront of technology together. You will find an open environment, offering myriad possibilities to take charge of your career, to be inspired, to have fun.
Context of the position
The Performance & Integration department is part of the Development and Engineering sector of ASML. We predict and optimize how our scanners will perform in their natural habitat: our customer's wafer fab. We perform this task for EUV as well as Immersion scanners.
Solid technical Master background in Physics, Optics, Nano Technology or related.
Experience
This is a starter position. We ask for interest in the semiconductor industry, preferably in lithography.
