Team/division description:
Operations Management Development Division has two key roles:
- Supporting our European Manufacturing Companies (EMCs) and our Supplier Partners to achieve Global Cost competitiveness through the thorough implementation of the Toyota Production System.
- Development of our Human Resources, and those of our Supplier Partners, through these activities. Leading to self-reliance in Europe, whilst performing at the same level as Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan (TMC).
Your responsibilities:You will support EMCs through our European Continuous Improvement Meeting (EPKM), from storyline through to implementation and reporting to Top Management. This involves spending 4 days per week in the host EMC for 6 months, and working closely with one of the Manufacturing shops (eg. Maching, Casting, Press, Weld, Paint, Assembly).
- For Vehicle EMCs this means improving Line Fundamentals and increasing their process change capability (Ruibetsuka), throughout current operations.
- For Unit EMCs this means defining low cost, smart investment & reflecting to Toyota Next Generation Architecture (TNGA) E/G line.
You will support our division Management Development Course (MDC) & Engineer Development Course (EDC). Through these concept and practical trainings the next generation of Kaizen and Shop Leaders are developed.
You’ll develop supplier skill on current line through dedicated/focussed activity with Suppliers & Purchasing Function.

Specialist Operations Management Development Job Requirements
Your profile:
- You are fluent in English (TME business language)
- You have good knowledge/experience of the automotive industry
- You have a master in production engineering; industrial engineering or equivalent by experience
You have minimum 2 years of experience in quality; production; industrial engineering or a non engineering degree…. - You have a Toyota DNA, this means you :
- Wish to develop and you are ready to persevere in order to reach challenging targets
- A strong kaizen mind with passion and a bias for action is most important
- Pragmatic problem solver
- Analytical mindset with a highly developed ability to draw conclusions based on facts
- Have strong planning and organization skills
- Enjoy working in a team, respecting others.
- Have a creative mind and passion for cars. (if relevant for function)
- Have excellent communication skills
- European minded and willing to travel (80%).
