Skalar is a Dutch manufacturer of high quality automated analysers for laboratory and process-industry. The company was established in 1965 and has grown since then into a multinational organization with its own subsidiaries in most European countries and North America.
Even there is a cooperation with about 80 representatives all over the world. The head quarter of Skalar is located in Breda which employs 135 people. The activities of the head quarter are research, development, assembly and provide support to the international sales and after sales network. The other Skalar-subsidiaries and representatives are mostly focused at sales, after-sales and providing support to the users of the Skalar-analysers.
The most important product lines of Skalar are the Continuous Flow Analyzer, the Discrete Analyzer, the Total Organic Carbon & Total Nitrogen Analyzer and the Robotic Analyzers. These analyzers are mostly used in environmental laboratories, water treatment institutes, plants for control of drinking and surface water, food industries, agriculture, waste disposal agencies etc..
The department
Our R&D department employs 16 employees in different specialism (Electronics, Mechanical, Chemistry and Software). Together they are working together to create high quality products for our international clients.
The position
The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for the development within Research & Development for embedded software of new Skalar analyzers and the maintenance of existing embedded software.
· Judging and determine the technical specifications of the electronic platform;
· Creating the embedded architecture;
· Programming and testing of embedded software;
· Participating in different kind of project teams.
The requirements
· Bachelor degree in software development;
· At least 5 years of experience in development of embedded software;
· Knowledge and experience with RTOS, C, C++ (Design Patterns);
· Experience with Agile/Atlassian tools/SVN
· Experience with stepper motors
