Together with the Domain Architect Workplace & Collaboration, you shape and coordinate the development of mid and long-term strategic goals for the IT workplace and client systems/software.
Job Description
As Solution Architect Workplace you are responsible for evaluating and defining strategies, roadmaps and implementation of new client computing based services and solutions. You are closely working with the Domain Architect Workplace & Collaboration as well as other ASML IT architects and business stakeholders. You will align solution architecture with backend infra architecture. Your day-to-day challenges can be divided into 3 major topics:
Roadmap/Strategy:
- Together with Domain Architect Workplace and Collaboration, defining client services future roadmaps and strategies around a wide range of technologies and capabilities;
- Participate in evolving and influencing industry trends, technologies and directions;
- Evaluating future technologies against business requirements, strategies and map them to IT capabilities.
Execution of roadmap/workplace projects:- Shape and participate in the execution of IT workplace related projects, responsible for implementing the new technologies, hands on support when required;
- Optimize existing solutions and services based on customer feedback (continuous improvement);
- Explore new use-cases with existing technology and services;
- Ensuring compliance of architecture principles, policies and standards;
- Supervise and ensure that products used in architecture landscape are kept up to date;
- Drive cost optimization and transparency through optimizing or rationalizing the landscape.
Stakeholder management:- Align with Domain Architect Workplace and Collaboration on vision and strategy;
- Timely and clear communication, share information and knowledge;
- Share responsibility and make use of expertise of others;
- Focus on targets and evaluate;
- Clear role and responsibility.
Context of the positionThe IT division supports information management, infrastructure and key business processes across ASML. The ICT infrastructure, hardware and applications are absolutely mission-critical for almost all ASML's internal and external activities. A sub-department within the IT organization is the Competence Center Operations & infrastructure (O&I). This Competence Center provides all IT support services.
This includes generic IT infrastructure services like laptops and desktops, telecom services, network and datacenters for which we ensure that these services are running in an optimal way and we look at innovating the services. We also support the IT applications that are used at ASML.You will be working within the IT ops & infra department reporting to the Senior Manager Workplace & Telco services.
ASML - IT - Solution Architect Workplace Job Requirements
Academic Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
- At least 7 years of experience as an architect on senior level and 10+ years of experience in other business and IT roles;
- Very experienced in delivering architectural principles, processes, infrastructure and solutions;
- Strong industry experience with associated certification;
- Knowledge and certification in architectural languages (Archimate preferred);
- A strong background in several of the following at an architectural level:
- Microsoft Productivity services (Office 365, Office);
- Microsoft Client and Server operating system (Windows);
- Identity and Access (Active Directory, Federation);
- Desktop management (Microsoft SCCM, Intune);
- Desktop virtualization (VMWare, Citrix);
- Mobile Smartphone platforms;
- Security related architecture;
- Business continuity concepts (clustering, load balancing, failover);
- Related infrastructure concepts (networking, storage, server hardware).
Personal skills- Passionate about driving new technology solutions;
- Recognized industry expert with knowledge sharing mentality;
- Good communication and presentation skills (selling the solution);
- Team player with strong leadership skills;
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to write positional papers, white papers, policies, best practices and strategy documents;
- Good customer focus and customer facing skills.
