FLSmidth Wiesbaden, as part of the FLSmidth Group, is managing the design, procurement, manufacturing and sale of products and equipment and the execution of large minerals projects throughout Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa.
To lead some of our key projects out of Germany, we are looking for you (m / f):
- Manages and coordinates the end to end process design of large potash processing plants
- Identifies and solves complicated technical problems in process design and recommends new guidelines.
- Provides technical expertise in understanding customer specific requests, analyzes the plant data and develops correlations for process design
- Bridges process engineering solutions with suitable equipment selection and design
- Estimates, plans, schedules and reports process design engineering activities
- Identifies and manages process design engineering and project risks
- Supports and liaises with the procurement team in the end-to-end process of tenders and in reviewing technical proposals in regards to process design
- Is involved in the technical evaluation of tenders and assures that the project team is enabled to take decisions
- Supports the negotiation of technical clarifications for orders as required
- Provides input on the technical query process towards the customer and sub-contracts. Ensures that technical changes are captured and implemented as well as aligned with the main stakeholders
- Leads, develops and coaches the team of process engineers; ensures they are performing towards the overall goal of the engineering execution
- Manages and coordinates the engineering team members and ensures all individuals are enabled to collectively perform and contribute to the success of the project
- Manages and coordinates external process engineering resources and consultants
Lead Process Engineer - Potash - Located in Walluf, Germany Job Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Process Engineering related discipline
- 7+ years’ experience in engineering management or project engineering
- 5+ years’ experience working in the potash or fertilizer industries is a must
- Solid track record of successfully managing the engineering of large projects in the mining and minerals industry
- First experience in iterative engineering processes (e.g. mining, oil and gas etc)
- Experience in working internationally is an advantage
- Able to make and maintain good relationships and to understand customer expectations and deliverables
- Able to lead and direct multi-disciplinary teams
- Factual and direct communication style
- Pro-active and able to take initiative
- Fluent in English and German is a plus (Russian or Chinese will be advantageous)
