Team/division description:
TME R&D centre is responsible for planning, development and production support of vehicles aimed at - and locally produced for - the European market.
The Vehicle Comfort team is part of the Vehicle Performance Engineering (VPE) division and is responsible for
the vehicle NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) and driveability development according to EU customer
expectations. We aim at the development of attractive and „fun to drive“ cars matching the European market
requirements and customer expectations. Using state-of-the art experimental and numerical methods, we develop
strategies to achieve the targets, and validate them on virtual and physical prototypes.
We are looking for an engineer with a few years of experience in acoustics, preferably in the automotive R&D. You will be introduced to the Toyota Way in vehicle development and you will take part in vehicle development activities; moreover you will be contributing to the NVH development of Toyota vehicles in EU.
Your challenge:
- You will contribute to Toyota vehicles‘ NVH improvement for European market, both for conventional and hybrid powertrains
- You will decide NVH targets for future Toyota vehicles for the EU market and lead the NVH development of the vehicles
- You will guide design engineers to achieve performance, while meeting quality, cost and feasibility requirements
- You will investigate EU market NVH issues by numerical and experimental analysis
- You will lead benchmarking activities and concept testing on prototype vehicles for EU market
- You will support researching state of the art and beyond state of the art technologies for implementation in future vehicles.

Engineer Noise,Vibration, Harshness Job Requirements
Your assets:
- Master degree in mechanical engineering
- You have a passion for cars and automotive and high interest and affinity with technique and acoustics
- You have a few years of experience in NVH, acoustics (experimental or numerical) and/or model-based development, preferably in the automotive R&D
- A solid background on vehicle mechanics and powertrain mechanism is an asset
- You are computer literate (MS Excel, Powerpoint)
- You are analytical, eager to learn and have proven project management skills
- You have a systematic and very accurate way of working
- You have proven project management skills to meet the strict deadlines and agreed objectives
- Therefore a good stress resistance is mandatory
- Some experience with guidance to a small team is an asset
- You are fluent in English (TME business language). Any other European language is a plus, knowledge of Japanese is an asset
- Willing to travel and you are open to be trained in Toyota headquarters in Japan
- You have a valid driving license
