As a Project Management Officer (PMO) you are responsible for performing the Project Monitoring & Controlling function within a dedicated part of the IT Project & Program Portfolio. The PMO provides reporting, structure, efficiency, standards and quality assurance across all projects.
Job Description
As Project Management Officer you safeguard the ASML IT Project Management Process and worldwide non-Product Generation Process Project Management Methodology to ensure it is effectively and consistently deployed. The PMO collects real-time feedback to enrich the methodology and processes based on best practices. You will be responsible for, but not limited to
1. Reporting & Project Execution:
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting on project budget, finance and resources;
- Challenge Project and Program Managers with respect to Project Management deliverables timeliness, quality, accuracy and integrity;
2. Project/Program support:
- Prepares communication and/or escalations on the issues/risks and the required contingency/mitigation actions with the Project Leader
- Provide accurate project management dashboard reporting & metrics (status on the triple constrain);
3. Finance:
- Report and review project finance with project lead and solution team manager
- Prepare progress and financial reporting of Competence Center portfolio
4. Improvements:
- Deliver proactive input into non-Product Generation Process Project Manager Methodology, project management processes and working processes;
- Participate and/or lead cross PMO initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the project management processes.
5. Liaison
- Point of contact for Competence Center Programs, Projects and Non Standard Changes

Context of the positionASML ITThe IT division supports information management, infrastructure and key business processes across ASML. The ICT infrastructure, hardware and applications are absolutely mission-critical for almost all ASML's internal and external activities. Within ASML IT the Competence Centers are accountable for IT application development for their respective Business unit(s).
The PMO supports the Competence Center by providing project methodology support, standardization of working practices and tools in the area of Project Monitoring & Controlling, quality control and specifically support for financial reporting of Competence Center projects and programs.The PMO reports to the Manager PMO within IT Means & Methods and has internal interfaces with ASML Project and Solution Team Managers, IT and Business stakeholders, finance, purchasing, suppliers and consultants.
ASML - IT - Project Management Officer (PMO) Job Requirements
You have an Academic working and thinking level. Ideally you have it completed with a post graduate degree in Project Management.
Experience
- 5 – 8 years hands-on experience as project management officer or similar position;
- Background in (supporting) program and project management;
- Basic finance knowledge, and experience with project financials;
- Sound knowledge of project management methodologies like PRINCE2 and PMBOK;
- Experience with managing (small) changes or projects are a plus.
Personal skills- Strong leadership, decisiveness, initiative, setting clear priorities, giving direction, influencing without power;
- Skills to support and advise middle and senior management to effect sustainable change in complex scenarios in large organizations;
- Strong client focus and excellent communication skills;
- Solution minded, precise and practical;
- Open minded, creative when handling problems independently;
- Fluent in English and preferably in Dutch.
