Senior Mechanical Engineer - CAD Job Description

The Senior Mechanical Engineer - CAD will report to the Principle Mechanical Engineer for Instruments and work within the System Engineering Team of Biocartis.
Purpose of the position The Senior Mechanical Engineer for Computer Aided Design (CAD) will have specific responsibilities for the configuration, management and maintenance of the 3D CAD software and accompanying PLM data vault. They will be responsible for the approval and release of configuration items using the data vault and controlled under the change order process.  Additionally, they may also undertake the solid and surface modelling components and sub-systems under the direction of the Principle Mechanical Engineer.
Tasks/outcome domains

• Configuring, management and maintenance of Siemens NX / Teamcenter PLM within a new design and engineering team.
• Developing the life-cycle management processes required to ensure configuration items are appropriately managed and controlled.
• Leading the transfer of a mechanical design data from a third-party developer into Biocartis.
• Providing guidance and support to less experienced users of the M-CAD system on preferred techniques for solid modelling.
• Managing the approval process for new components developed on the M-CAD system ensuring parts are correctly approved, released and archived using the engineering change order processes.

Senior Mechanical Engineer - CAD Job Requirements

Profile

• A Degree or higher qualification in CAD Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Experience in setting up, configuring and maintaining Siemens NX CAD and Teamcenter PLM software within a design and development engineering team.
• 3D Solid and surface modelling and simulation using NX software.
• Experience working within a new product development, on innovative, or leading edge designs.
• Ideally experienced in the design and development of medical devices or in-vitro diagnostic equipment working within an ISO13485 / GMP compliant environment.
• Advanced knowledge, orally and in writing of Dutch and English.
• MS Office, Siemens NX CAD / Teamcenter PLM software.
