Junior HR Officer in the ESOC HR Department (Part-Time 20 Hours) Job Description
Telespazio VEGA Deutschland has been supporting the European Space Industry for over 30 years, including ESA, DLR, EUMETSAT and CNES.
Reporting directly to the ESOC Local Human Resources Representative, the Junior HR Officer will be responsible for administering a variety of tasks within the Human Resources Department of ESOC.
This position is based in Darmstadt, Germany directly on customer site ESOC, it is part-time (20-hrs) and permanent. Deadline for submission is 6th of September 2016 and expected start date for the new HR Officer will be October 2016.
Responsibilities/Duties
The duties and tasks of the postholder will include:
- Leading and participating in the ESOC Newcomers Intranet Website project
- Being the local HR Communications interface, including providing input for HR intranet sites in ESOC and EAC as required
- Being the HR interface to the ESOC Childcare Centre and ensuring correct allocation of available spaces in the ECC kindergarden and crèche, including maintaining a list of registration requests and waiting list for spaces
- Participating in the setup and implementation at ESOC of trainee and student programmes
- Partnering with the Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer in matters of local labour law requirements, such as health protection laws and Safety at Work initiatives, planning and implementation of First Aid and Fire Protection trainings
- Working on and providing input to HR actions from Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Meetings and Local Joint Committee (LJC) Meetings
- Support in the setup and deployment of the Annual Health Week
- Preparing of and participating in quarterly Canteen Board Meetings
- Setting up and managing monthly KPI reporting on leave taken/untaken, flexitime accounts and absence due to uncertified/certified sickness

Qualifications/Experience
- Applicants for this post should have a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in the field of social sciences (law, economics, human resources).
- Several years of experience in the area of administration is essential; preference will be given to candidates with previous exposure to or demonstrated interest in the field of Human Resources.

- The working languages of the Agency are English and French. At a minimum, very good command, both verbal and written, of one of these languages, with preference for English, is required as well as a working knowledge of the other
Desirable Skills- German language skills will be considered an asset for this position.
