ASML - Software Quality Engineer Job Description
The Software Quality Engineer job mission is to contribute and to improvement and control the quality of the ASML system and embedded software and the associated software development process.
Software Quality Engineer at ASML comprises the following tasks and activities:
- Definition and implementation of systems that provide measurement data on achieved software quality and software development process adherence.
- Interpretation of resulting measurement data: identifying deviations from agreed targets, identify causes and propose corrective actions
- Providing support in the analysis of “mishaps” to determine root-causes and identify (process) improvements
- Supporting or leading (small) quality projects that implement agreed (process) improvements
- Coaching teams in (re)-gaining control of both the measured and the customer perceived quality of their software deliveries by providing instructions, presentations, refresher training, moderating reviews, etc.
- Training/coaching employees at the start of their ASML career in the use of the Software Development process and related tooling.
- The software quality engineer is required to operate both on a level defining and implementing process improvements and metrics and on a purely operational level of measuring quality, reporting findings to various groups and provide operational support to improvements.
Context of the position The Software Quality Engineer will operate in a team that is responsible for quality improvement for the software cluster at ASML. He/she reports to the Software Quality Group leader.
ASML - Software Quality Engineer Job Requirements
Education
- A Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering or e.g. Business Administration.
Experience- 5-10 years of experience in software development.
- Preferably a background or proven working experience in software quality and software process improvement.
Personal skills- Enjoying working in a role that combines technology and process driven way of working
- Strong communication skills to individuals and groups
- Process oriented
- Tenacious but with understanding for work-floor constraints
- Hands-on mentality, result driven
