Biochemical Analyst / Researcher specialized in GC / HPLC-MS Job Description

The position:

Within the Quality Team (where this function is part of) a challenging vacancy is available for a biochemical analyst / researcher with a specialization in HPLC / GC-MS. The function is dedicated to the development of protocols for the measurement of (bio)chemical components and characteristics in potato that are related to consumer requirements and desires.
 
Within this function you are collaborating with a diverse number of internal and external customers, including interactions with other research groups. There is broad diversity and variation in tasks and contacts. It is important that you can work project and customer oriented. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in Analytical Biochemistry and the desire to develop further in this field. Affinity with breeding and / or experience in a similar position in the 'green industry' is a plus. It involves a full-time job and a permanent position is provided.

Biochemical Analyst / Researcher specialized in GC / HPLC-MS Job Requirements

The Recquirements:

• You have completed a relevant professional or academic education
• You have a thorough knowledge and experience with the use of HPLC / GC-MS for the analysis of complex samples, preferably in the field of Metabolomics for Plants.
• Experience or affinity with food technology is an advantage.
• You have proven experience in the interpretation and reporting of metabolic complex MS datasets and identification of relationships between instrumental datasets and quality traits.
• You have experience with (multivariate) statistical packages as a basis for exploration of complex datasets.
• You are capable to convert new developments into routine protocols.
• As a chromatography expert you are responsible for supporting and guiding team members for relevant questions and issues.
• You are flexible (due to variation of activities within projects) and you share in an efficient manner knowledge of instruments and analysis protocols with your team members. You are critical on the quality of work and associated reporting.
• You can manage projects with respect to design, progress and deadlines.
• You have the 'drive' to develop yourself and your team members.
• You have good communication and organizational skills.
• You have the drive to aim for efficiency
• You are a team player.
