Software Commissioning Engineer Job Description
ClientThe company designs, manufactures and installs material handling systems, including accompanying services, for distribution centres, sorting centres and airports throughout the world.
The complex systems are a combination of the most innovative and creative solutions in the fields of electronics, mechanics and control technology. With Customer Centres worldwide, they operate globally and lead the field in their business on all continents.
Responsibilities of the Software Commissioning Engineer:
- Involved in projects right from the start in terms of design and engineering;
- Configuring the FSC (Flow Systems Controller, your work can also include configuring the SCADA;
- Travel to the customer site where you'll commission the system, you'll spend 75% of your time travelling;
- Checking the cabling, setting up all the EM components, building the interfaces with peripheral equipment such as scanners, fine-tuning the FSC software configuration which you've engineered, and putting our software into operation;
- Responsible for subsystem testing and making sure the system passes the Site Acceptance Test.
Your departmentOur Parcel & Postal Engineering department carries out projects in multidisciplinary teams consisting of Project Leaders, Layout, Mechanical Engineers and Software Commissioning Engineers.
Software Commissioning Engineer Job Requirements
Profile from the Software Commissioning Engineer:
- Bachelor (higher vocational education) in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Automation;
- Good command of English;
- An interest in industrial automation and controls hardware such as field bus systems and sensors, including PROFINET, PROFIBUS and Siemens S7;
- Willing to travel extensively (60-75% of the time) in other countries.
