Foster Wheeler energy Limited require a Senior Piping Engineer for their Middlesbrough office. This is a Permanent Staff position.
Piping engineering experience will have been gained at major contracting companies on a variety of petrochemical projects including revamps and plant modifications. The successful applicant will be a self-starter able to demonstrate the ability to work using their own initiative or as part of a team. Effective communication of ideas and requirements in a clear and concise manner is considered essential. Experienced in managing teams of engineers and designers and the checking of deliverables. The successful candidate must have a pragmatic approach to solving problems and carrying out technical investigations and assessments. Client focused with an appreciation of project costs and the ability to control and work to budget.
Responsibilities
Assist the Chief Piping Engineer with recruitment, technical development and mentoring of personnel.
Knowledge of appropriate national and international codes and standards including ASME B31.3.
Experienced in working to procedures within a quality system with knowledge of health and safety issues.
Chartered Engineer qualified to degree level or equivalent.
Experienced in the following activities:
· Management and control of teams of engineers and designers

· Layout reviews
· Reviewing general arrangements and isometrics
· Writing and presentation of technical reports
· Writing standards and procedures
· Producing pipe specifications
· Producing data sheets
· Producing and checking calculations
· Design and selection of supports
· Fitness for service assessments
· Use of spreadsheets and data bases
· Estimates
· Requisitions
· Site surveys
· Risk assessments
· Construction techniques
The candidate will have gained an appreciation through experience of the use of 3D and 2D CAD including PDS, PDMS, Autoplant, AutoCAD and Microstation. Experience of stress analysis software such as Caesar II would be an advantage.
Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
