You will be responsible for 2nd level analysis and correlate notable events from a variety of detection and intelligence sources to come to understanding of the threat.
Job Description
Within the IT Security Competence center the Cyber Defense operations team is a small team of IT security professionals maintaining a security operations center and critical incident response team. You will formulate an effective threat response and you will work with our IT service providers to have them implement the necessary IT response and controls. You will also analyze vulnerability data and report on effectiveness of patch management practices within the (IT) organization.
Your day-to-day tasks and responsibilities will contain of, but not limited to:
- Second level threat analysis on events of note
- Threat hunting within the available information sources
- Initiate incident response, dispatch and follow up on remediation actions
- Initiate process improvement actions to increase service performance
- Evangelize security inside and outside of IT to improve organizational maturity
- Participate in projects aimed at improving Cyber Security resiliency
- Drive vulnerability and patch management improvements through reporting
We are looking to expand our team with expertise on critical incident response, vulnerability management and security operations to better face the challenges of the future. You must be able to produce a “Verklaring omtrent gedrag (VOG)” or equivalent.
Context of the position ASML ITThe IT division supports information management, infrastructure and (automation and optimization) ofkey business processes across ASML. The ICT infrastructure, hardware and applications are absolutely mission-critical for almost all ASML's internal and external activities. A sub-department within the IT organization is the IT Competence Center IT Security.
IT Security CC protects the IT landscape of all ASML and operates within ASML IT and contributes to the IT Mission: Working together to accelerate ASML in accomplishing its business goals, securely. The incident responder operates within the CSIRT team in the Cyber Defense Organization and reports to the Manager CDO within the IT Security Competence Center.
ASML - IT – Cyber Security Incident Handler Job Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in an IT technical field or equivalent professional experience;
- CISSP certification or equivalent security certification (like CIH, GIAC) or formal IT Security education is a must.
Experience- Experience as IT Security expert, security incident handler or similar;
- Knowledge of networks and networking protocols;
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix and/or Windows operating systems;
- Practical experience with SIEM tooling;
- Data analytics experience (with Splunk is a pré);
- Understanding of application architectures;
- Understanding of web protocols and database access protocols;
- Understanding of ITIL processes, especially incident, problem and change processes;
- Experience in a SOC/CIRT team in a complex enterprise environment is a pré.
Personal skills- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills;
- Excellent communication skills and dealing with resistance;
- Flexibility in working hours, call-standby and/or escalation response outside office hours will be part of the job;
- Able to effectively operate in crisis situations / able to cope with stress;
- Strong business sense;
- Team player able to self-organize;
- Mastery of the English language at a business level is required.
