ASML - Software Test Team Leader Job Description

The software test group is responsible for qualifying software release and service packs before they are released for customer use. Assessing the changes made, defining test cases to verify and executing test cases are key activities under your control. Your mission is to manage a team of test engineers and ensure that the software meets the quality standards.

Job Description
The software test team leader is responsible for managing a team of 4-8 software test engineers. By creating plans based upon personnel commitment from the team members, aligning it with the stakeholders, you execute these plans accordingly.
You report the progress to the project and line management and you identify improvements to increase the team effectiveness.

The software test team is responsible for qualifying the software version prior to release and determine whether they meet the quality standards. By assessing changes to the software, you define mitigation plans to reduce the risk, develop dedicated test cases and test the software prior to release. With the information collected you determine the quality and provide an advice.
Your advice determines for a large extend whether the software can be used by our customers. Customer satisfaction is the number one driver for ASML and thus for every software engineer.

Context of the position
Within ASML, the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the development of ASML products. Within this sector the department Software Architecture and Test&Integration is responsible for the software architecture, software integration and software test.

This department owns the upper part of the V-model. Close collaboration between these disciplines is required to delivery high quality software that meets the expectations of the customer. A huge code base is maintained and under strict configuration management to provide maximum commonality between different machine types.

ASML - Software Test Team Leader Job Requirements

MSc, PDEng or PhD, preferably in computer science or related area.

Experience
At least 5 years of experience in software test development and at least 2 years of experience as team leader of a team of 4 or more software engineers. As team leader you must have experience in Scrum or Agile development process as well as waterfall process model. Experience with in porduct software is needed. Experience in high tech industry is highly desirable
