Materials Expert Job Description

Car manufacturers today are faced with increasing challenges. Technological requirements are continuously stepped up, because of the demand for performance, safety, efficiency and clean emissions. With our innovative products we strive to contribute to an environmentally friendly industry.
 
Function In general:

• Responsible for analyzing the use of materials in high temperature sensors (Such as: metal/ceramic glass seals.) for the automotive industry.
• Doing corrosion research and welding characterization.
• Giving support to production process in relations to material use and will work in international teams and with international customers.

• Works in project teams on design of sensors
• Is co-responsible for progress of the project
• Stays in contact with customers and suppliers on a regular basis.
• Demonstration of structured problem solving and creative mindset.
• Understanding of automotive quality standards and manufacturing processes.

Materials Expert Job Requirements

Knowledge and Skills
 
Material science:

• Master in Mettalurgy or Material Science
• Excellent knowledge of ceramics, metals, cement
• Conventional test methods for corresponding properties
• Material selection based on the design specification

• Basic statistics, e.g. t-test, ANOVA
• Experience with DOE
• Knowledge of CAD and CAE:
• Familiar with one type of CAD system, preferred Soildworks
• Understand FEA method and the post-process of FEA results

• One of the programming knowledge to help daily work: Matlab, C#

• Good presentation skills
• Possible to think in win-win situation towards both customers and suppliers

• Basic understanding and experience of projects
• Being proactive, and work initiatively

• Fluent English and Dutch are a must, German is a big plus
