Control System Engineer Job Description
As (Lead) Engineer you will be responsible for developing the offshore crane control system (subject-matter expert) and lead the software and electrical development during detail design phase.Tasks/Responsibilities
- Perform overall functional analysis of the drives & control system for Offshore cranes as member of the concept development team;
- Create functional and technical specifications for the drives & control system;
- Perform system analysis and develop algorithms on crane operational modes as prescribed in the rules and based on experience (e.g. AHC and AOPS behavior);
- Lead the software and electrical development during detail design phase;
- Test and validate solutions for the drives & control system, using test scenarios and simulations;
- Ensure that the product is in compliance with the applicable rules and regulations;
- Advise on proposals in offer phase and product improvements;
- Check and approve deliverables made by colleagues;
- Responsible for validity, accuracy and compliance of performed and checked designs and simulations;
- Responsible for delivery of tasks described above according to planning and with the required quality within a matrix organization;
- Lead engineer responsibility for software and electrical development team during detail design.

Qualifications
- BSc/ MSc degree in Automation & Mechatronics, Systems & Control, Electrical engineering or equivalent;
- Experienced in the subsea offshore and/ or (offshore) crane manufacturing industry;
- Proven experience and knowledge with Active Heave Compensation;
Please note that your application can only be taken into consideration if you meet the criteria mentioned above.As an engineer you have the ability to approach a design (concept, basic and detail design). You are familiar with offshore rules and standards (DNV, Lloyds etc.) Additionaly you bring strong knowledge with creating control systems for hydraulically and electrically driven motions. You have experience with software development methods like Agile/ Scrum. Knowledge of Siemens drives and control systems, E-Plan and Simulink.We are looking fot a strong communicator, a teamplayer with hands-on and pro-active mentality. You have experience in working in international and intercultural environments. You are fluent in English, both written as spoken)
