Field Service Technician / Engineer Job Description

At the Darmstadt site, around 500 highly qualified employees manufacture and market high-tech systems and components for weighing, feeding, vibration conveying and screening. This intelligent measuring technology is used in industries such as cement, steel, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and transport.

Schenck Process systems lead the world in screening, classification, conveying and weighing. Take our vibratory equipment, for example, which withstands the toughest conditions in applications ranging from ore extraction to the steel, cement, and pit and quarry industries. It simply gets on with the job.

To further strengthen our European Aftermarkets team, we are looking for a self-motivated, focussed individual to work alongside our service team.

Your responsibilities include

• To be where our customers need you and us the most: Worldwide execution of shutdowns, commissioning completion, inspections, routine maintenance, breakdowns and audits
• You liaise with the customer to correctly identify technical problems and seek to resolve them quickly and efficiently
• You can develop strong relationships with clients as well as actively seek out opportunities for new technical services, upgrades, spare parts and service work when visiting our customers
• You are responsible for ensuring adherence to all customer and Schenck safety standards and reporting requirements
• Close cooperation with internal departments (Sales, R&D, Eng.) is vital for your role
• You frequently run customer trainings and briefings

Field Service Technician / Engineer Job Requirements

Our expectations

• Relevant qualification in mechanical and electrical engineering
• Valid drivers licence
• Ability to demonstrate complex technical problems under tight timeframes
• Proven ability to understand, interpret and meet technical customer needs
• 5+ years of experience in a technical working environment; Experience with loading, weighing and/or feeding systems and material handling is beneficial but not neccessarily required
• Willingness to consistently travel world wide to serve our customers on-site
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills in english, both verbal and written.
