Into action
The EAME PVP/R team is part of the Legal & Taxes / ALIP (Agribusiness Legal and Intellectual Property) organization and operates between Development and Marketing. As PVP/Registration Specialist you are part of a team responsible for obtaining plant variety rights for newly developed vegetables and flowers plant varieties as well as permits needed for the commercialization (national/import listing) of vegetable seed in the EAME region.

The challenge
As a PVP/R Specialist you obtain and maintain plant variety rights and the right to commercialize (vegetable) seeds, including communication with national and regional plant variety protection offices, registration authorities and outside agents. You cooperate and communicate with business (Vegetables & Flowers) and R&D stakeholders as well as expert counterparts in other Syngenta functions, such as IP specialists. You cooperate with the business and the trademark department in relation to variety names worldwide and with both the Legal/IP/Licensing teams and the business in case of IP enforcement. You co-develop, implement and execute policies & procedures with regard to plant variety rights, national/import listing and variety names. You will support the development of IT tools for PVP/R related activities. As a PVP/R Specialist, you maintain a professional level of knowledge of all relevant laws and regulations, taxonomy of relevant vegetable and flower species, breeding and phyto-pathology. You will represent the Syngenta organization in (inter)national trade organizations and be proactively involved in the EAME and global Syngenta PVP/R platforms.

Plant Variety Protection/Registration Specialist m/f Job Requirements

You hold a Bachelor degree (Dutch HBO level) in Law and/or Agriculture or equivalent knowledge gained through proven experience. You are analytical and have strong computer and database management skills. You are an ambitious self-starter, pro-active and decisive and a real team worker. You are able to operate effectively in a complex network of stakeholders in an international multi-location matrix organization and an excellent communicator. You are fluent in English and have a basic knowledge of French. You will be based in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands.
