The Project Certification Manager – Electrical/Hybrid Propulsion will be part of the Certification Directorate. The jobholder will manage and perform core technical and administrative processes of certification projects of aeronautical products, parts and appliances, including management of the Certification Team in order to ensure compliance with applicable safety standards. He/She at the same time will act as Expert for compliance verifications to Engine, Propeller or APU Certification Specifications with concentration on electrical, hybrid or other alternative propulsion designs.
Your responsibilities:
· Initial Airworthiness Certification and compliance verification with technical requirements: managing, performing and controlling core activities related to initial airworthiness of new type designs (including Changes & Repairs) of aeronautical electrical or hybrid and/or other alternative Propulsion designs in order to ensure compliance with applicable safety standards;
· Continuing Airworthiness: managing the operational safety oversight process associated with certified products parts and appliances and deciding promptly on appropriate corrective actions to ensure the continuing airworthiness;
· Developing Certification Specifications especially for electrical, hybrid or other alternative propulsion designs and contributing to maintenance and updating of Certification Specifications;
· Providing expert advice both inside and outside the Agency;
Your skills:
· Completed university studies and at least 6 years of professional experience or alternative education as detailed in the vacancy notice;
· Professional knowledge with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the electrical, hybrid or other alternative propulsion development field or similar technical environment,
· Comprehensive knowledge in the design and development of electric drive systems (electric motors) OR thorough knowledge in electric motor control and safety system design OR familiarity with most recent developments and designs of high capacity battery systems OR experience with the design and development of hybrid drive systems;
· Knowledge about the establishment and interpretation of System Safety Assessments;
· Knowledge of airworthiness certification and technical and safety requirements.
