IT Network & Communication Engineer (m/f Job Description
Our Group IT, based in Stuttgart, Germany, is looking for an IT Network & Communication Engineer (m/f).This position will focus on installation, configuration and maintenance of networked information systems of the global IT infrastructure of Trelleborg, supporting +240 sites in +40 countries. The position will be based in Stuttgart, Germany.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, manage, support and document wired and wireless campus networks
- Design, implement, manage, support and document the campus voice infrastructure
- Troubleshoot, isolate and resolve network issues.
- Complete projects and tasks independently and with limited direct supervision
- Work on projects that include system deployment, support and issue resolution
- Stays current with trends and best practices, and seeks relevant information regarding trends and best practices in the industry, recommending emerging technologies to improve and enhance existing systems
- Provide planning and setup for new network services
- Work in an international team
- Travel, as required, to meet project objectives
IT Network & Communication Engineer (m/f Job Requirements
- +2 years of work experience within network infrastructure
- Thorough understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking in larger network environments serving 10,000+ network users, predominantly Cisco. Nortel/Avaya experience is of advantage.
- Extensive hands-on experience in and knowledge of IP routing / switching and network management
- Experience in designing and deploying enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN and VoIP networks
- Good knowledge of common business applications and protocols
- Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and/or Aerohive wireless would be beneficial.
- Must possess initiative and passion to strive for excellence and exhibit the eye for detail
- Experience or working knowledge in ITIL processes and standards is an added advantage
- You enjoy working in an international team
- Certifications: CCDA, CCNA, CCNP or similar desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with a keen interest in working in a culturally diversified fast-paced environment
