ICT Database Coordinator (m/f) Job Description

The DBC is responsible for the management and development of the school’s information system (SIS) and ensuring that these systems provide the required support for day-to-day operation of the school.
Currently BIS uses WCBS 3Sys/PASS as the student information system, Faria's MangeBAC for reporting and NWEA MAP Testing to record student performance. The Database Coordinator is the main integrator and administrator of these systems and as such will be expected to work closely with the ICT Systems Manager, the school’s Leadership Team and with all staff members who use the system, providing training, updates and information.
The Database Coordinator monitors performance of hard- and software of the information systems, documents their technical architecture and related operational procedures and in collaboration with the ICT Systems Manager and the school leadership provides expertise for developing policies related to the SIS
The ideal candidate will have a passion for how information systems can support the educational programmes of a leading international school.

ICT Database Coordinator (m/f) Job Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent job experience
• Experience installing, developing and extracting data from relational database management systems
• Robust knowledge of relational databases, robust working knowledge of SQL
• Experience automating manual processes, e.g. scripting in bash or other shells
• Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software (OS X, Windows and Unix)
• Experience writing reports that rely on SQL language and logic
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in both English and German
• Team-oriented, ability to work with others and strong customer service orientation
• Adaptability to multi-task and to work effectively as part of a team
• Requires developed analytical skills and ability to multi task and perform under pressure
