Function
Your tasks in the research area around are:
· creating simulation models for autonomous vehicle or mechatronic systems for several applications (motion planning, tracking, identification, control algorithms, signal processing,…);
· using the developed models for analyzing the system’s behavior, optimizing the design configuration and parameters and controller/software design/testing functionality (e.g. fail safe and accurate vehicle handling in complex and difficult manoeuvres);
· validating the developed models and controllers in real-life test conditions;
· dissemination of the results in journals, conferences and seminars;
· you report to the Project Leader and the site manager;
· Site Lommel or Leuven.
You are
· passionate about research and new technologies;

· a good communicator who can build sustainable relationships.
Profile
· You have a master's degree or PhD in Engineering (Control, Mechanical, Automotive, Modelling & Simulation , Signal Processing & Control systems, Mechatronics, Robotics, ..);
· Track record of at least 5 years of research in academic or industrial environment;
· Broad knowledge in dynamics and motion control (modelling, signal processing, control algorithms, system simulation, sensors and actuators, vehicle standard transceivers, instrumentation,..);
· Experience with Matlab and Simulink, and possibly dSpace, SimScape or LMS Imagine.Lab Amesim.
