If you are undertaking the internship on a voluntary basis, i.e. not as a compulsory requirement of a study programme, the maximum duration is 3 months. The team "High Lift Component Loads and System Support" is responsible for loads on all leading and trailing edge devices as well as on fairings for flap support structure. To ensure vicinity and close collaboration with the High Lift Design & Stress department, the department is located in Bremen. The main activities concentrate on three fields: static loads, dynamic loads and fatigue loads.
Your role will involve the following exciting tasks:
- Understanding the high lift loads calculation process, considering external constraints and requirements
- Understanding of upstream SEI (Sustained Engine Imbalance) calculation process on Aircraft level
- Revising best practices of Aircaft and sub-component level, i.e. high lift system, loads processes
- Validate existing approach versus alternative solutions and benchmark detailed and simplified approaches in order to provide visibility on sensitivity of final results as parameter of alternative approaches
- Propose a best practice (best fit solution) with respect to effort vs. accuracy
- Documentation and presentation of results of the analysis
You offer:
- Enrolled student* within Aerospace Engineering or similar field of study
- Experience with Nastran/ Patran is as well required as a good knowledge of MS Office and Unix
- Scripting skills, e.g. Visual Basic; Matlab coding skills would be a plus
- German: fluent/ negotiation level
- English: fluent/ negotiation level
- Advanced language skills in German are welcome
You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
* Besides we offer the possibility to do an internship between the Bachelor's degree and the planned Master course. The internship must take place immediately after the Bachelor's degree; there can be a maximum of one semester between the end of the Bachelor's degree and the start of the Master's course; possible duration: 3 months.
