Team Leader for Cable and Racks Management (f/m) Job Description
The European X-Ray Free-Electron Laser Facility GmbH (European XFEL GmbH) is a multi-national non-profit
company. It will make available X-rays pulses of unique quality for studies in physics, chemistry, the life sciences,
materials research and other disciplines. Located in the Hamburg area, Germany, it will comprise scientific
instruments for a wide range of experimental techniques. Construction of the European XFEL is underway, user
operation starts in 2017.
We are looking for a Team Leader for Cable and Racks Management (f/m)
The Position
- lead a team of technicians and engineers that plan cable routing as well as racks content and location for the complex scientific installations in the experiment hall of the European XFEL facility
- work with several scientific groups to collect, organize and identify requirements
- direct external contractors that support or execute the planning, tendering and installation
- organize integration of the cabling and rack information into an ePlan database
- optimize the cable and rack planning processes

Requirements
- degree in the field of electric / electronics engineering or equivalent
- proven experience in providing planning of cables, connectors and cable routing for complex scientific or
- industrial installations
- proven working experience with the ePlan software, Beckhoff TwinCAT, VBA programming
- leadership, management and communication abilities
- Reference number: E-110
- Duration: This appointment is initially limited to two years. The conversion into a permanent contract is possible.
- Salary and benefits are similar to those of public service organizations in Germany. In addition European XFEL
provides a non-contributory company pension scheme as well as broad relocation benefits. The European XFEL
GmbH intends to achieve a widely international staff. Non-German candidates hired from abroad receive an
international allowance.
