A Senior Project Manager is responsible for the largest, most complex and high risk projects. These projects are focusing on improving the functional safety of vehicles and prevent human fatalities and severe injuries by developing integrated safety solutions that are robust and reliable under all circumstances. The Senior Project Manager leads the project leaders on the content of their work packages and is responsible for stakeholder management both internal and external TNO in the international domain.
You will be responsible for managing the budgets, timing and quality of the deliverables of multiple (related) applied research projects in the field of Cooperative and Automated Driving. You will, guide the project teams, defining customer contracts with budget calculations, and maintaining good customer relations with the clients during and after the projects. As a Senior Project Manager you work in a team of professionals, for automotive OEMs and TIERs, service providers, research and governmental organizations all around the world. By focusing on large key accounts, you will play a key role in strengthening and further building up our position as a unique knowledge partner for innovative safety solutions.
Requirements
• Technical University (MSc), in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or comparable
• 5 to 10 years of experience as project leader/manager in the automotive industry (R&D, technology or innovation related), preferably in the field of active safety, advanced driver assistance systems, automated driving or cooperative systems.
• Proven Experience in project management or IPMA C;
• Strong (project/team) leader skills, able to motivate and coach team members;
• Able to write project proposals, shows empathy with the legal side of contracts;
• Well organized, able to structure projects within given constraints, result driven;
• Convincing communication skills, good understanding of customer needs;
• Fluent English I by word and writing is a must. Candidates that can speak German have an advantage;
• Can convert vision in action, taking the lead;
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
