Within the Powertrains (PT) department, we work with an integral approach on powertrain topics related to Low Carbon Heavy Duty Transport. We focus on three sub technologies: advanced combustion control, engine after treatment, and (predictive) energy management. The common denominator is model based (predictive) control; we develop physics based models of powertrain components, validate these through measurements, and optimize at system level.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing the budget, timing and quality of the deliverables of multiple (related) applied research projects in the field of (heavy duty) powertrains, engines and after treatment. You will guide the project teams, helping to define customer contracts with budget calculations, and maintain good customer relations with the clients during and after the projects. As a Senior Project Manager you work with a team of professionals for automotive OEMs and TIERs all around the world. By focusing on large key accounts, you will play a key role in strengthening and further building up our position as a unique knowledge partner. You play an important role in organizing the strategy of the department, which results in processes that enable the team to implement projects with the highest efficiency and quality possible. An important part of this is the allocation of resources and registration of project/customer related knowledge.
Requirements
· Technical University (MSc) degree in e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or comparable
· 5 to 10 years of experience as project leader/manager in the automotive industry (applied R&D / innovation or related), preferably in the field of (heavy duty) powertrains, engines and after treatment;
· Proven Experience in project management, e.g. IPMA C or comparable;
· Strong (project/team) leader skills, able to motivate and coach team members;
· Able to write project proposals and collaborate with legal staff;
· Well organized, able to structure projects within given constraints, result driven;
· Convincing communication skills, good understanding of customer needs;
· Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is a must. Candidates that can speak German have an advantage;

Can convert vision in action, taking the lead;
Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
