Function
As experienced researcher you
· generate new project ideas in pre-competitive research and select the technical approach
· carry out concrete research and development projects, together with industry, research and development centres and universities
· are responsible for specific research targets and participate in all project stages
· contribute to building up competence in material and joining technologies selection, simulation and optimisation methodologies
· develop and validate innovative methods to support the development and implementation of smart and lightweight products
· support the experimental evaluation and validation within research projects
· write internal and external reports of the project results
· present the research results to the industry and at national and international conferences
· support other researchers, share your knowledge and help them to develop their technical competences
You will work in a team and report to the site manager

Profile
You have
· Master's degree or PhD in a relevant domain (Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering)
· Track record of at least 5 years of research in an academic or industrial context
· Knowledge of various material families (metals, polymers, composites), their properties, production techniques and applications
· Experience in modelling and simulation of mechanical components (linear and non-linear CAE)
· Broad knowledge of research methodologies, as design of experiments, and testing/validation methods
· Innovative and able to generate inspiring new concepts and can translate them in projects;
· Analysis and synthesis skills
· Experience with optimisation software (e.g. Altair Optistruct) and CES-Selector tool is a plus
· Knowledge of simulation of production processes, such as thermoforming and deep-drawing, is a plus
· Knowledge and hands-on experience with joining technologies, specifically adhesive bonding and mechanical fasteners, is a an added value
