1. Legal compliance: you develop, agree and follow through the agreed S&H strategy making sure to comply with the relevant (current and future) S&H legislation.
2. S&H strategy: you translate the S&H strategy into the S&H year action plan (YAP) and global prevention plan (GPP).Through strict planning and follow up, you make sure to implement these plans.
3. Risk avoidance/control: as part of risk avoidance/control, you provide advice by defining the adequate protective measures, work instructions, following the risk assessment of activities, equipment and Hazmat (Hazardous Materials). You support local risk management of medium- and high risk contractor activities by checking the proposed risk analysis and prevention measures of these activities.
4. Psychosocial risks: together with HR colleagues, you study, prepare and agree an action plan that addresses current psychosocial risks at our Belgian entities. You ensure communication to staff and staff representatives in the Committee for prevention and protection (CPP).
5. Health montoring: you support the development of the S&H tool enabling het Health monitoring of our members.Together with the company nurse, you make sure that all members subject to mandatory Health surveillance are screened. You make sure that the Health surveillance program is updated in case of a changed risk pattern.Together with the company nurse, you follow-up provisions for first-aid and illness treatment and the annual training of first-aid- and fire teams.
6. S&H organisation: you study, prepare, agree the necessary S&H procedures and make sure that they are explained, understood and followed by all stakeholders. You study, prepare and agree the S&H auditing schedule and lead the implementation. Based on the audit result, you provide guidance to avoid occupational risk or diseases and follow through that the necessary improvement actions are undertaken. You report the status and progress through a Monthly report to line management and through a Quarterly report to the CEO of the company. You provide support to prepare the annual report of the internal prevention service towards the authorities. Build and maintain confidence with local authorities for new projects and work regulation changes. Next to your advisory role, you act as a team player in order to find and implement the most effective solution to improve the wellbeing of our colleagues. You support the organisation of workshops to raise safety awareness and improve the risk assessment skills of our colleagues.
Your assets
- Masters degree in Engineering or Facility
- Certificate of Prevention Advisor (level 1) and practical experience in this field
- You can demonstrate min. 5 years of relevant experience in engineering or facility management
- Good organisation skills, able to work/follow up simultaneous projects
- Result oriented (achieving goals in an efficient and effective manner), creative out-of-the-box thinking
to find pragmatic solutions
- Easy communicator and good reporting skills
- Customer oriented approach with Kaizen spirit
- Stress resistant
- Able to work in team (with internal and external advisor, local contractors and TME members) – in close partnership with management
- Good understanding of business and work floor requirements
- Accepting to travel in Europe, occasionally to Japan
- Basic toxicology knowledge is an asset.
- Fluent in English, Dutch (French is an asset)
