Marel Stork Poultry Processing focuses on the design, production and installation of machinery for the poultry-processing industry. We are the world market leader in this field. Within the Research Team of Marel Stork Poultry Processing we have a wide variety of disciplines and specialists with degrees in physics, poultry science, biology, food technology and meat science.
The Marel Manufacturing Center in Nitra is one of the strategic sites within the Marel supply chain where we produce, assemble and test a large variety of equipment for the food processing industry. We employ over 200 people in Nitra. As the new Managing Director you will be operationally responsible for the total site and all of its departments, such as: operational procurement, warehousing, production, assembly, testing, manufacturing- and industrial engineering, HR and Finance.

Job Specification
• The managing director needs to further develop the organization, thereby improving the customer interface management aspect with its customers
• The organization has grown in recent years and is planned to see further growth through expansion of it's portfolio
• Drives and manages the operational performance of the site and the people
• Defines and drives the targets within the manufacturing center
• Responsible to manage the budget, to drive the operating expenses and to manage the variances
• Builds bridges with internal Marel customers
• Drives continuous improvement in productivity and reduces the fixed cost base where possible
• Drives continuous improvement on delivery performance, quality and processes.
• Develops the organization and deploys both global and local processes within the manufacturing center
• Continuously develops the people and the team within the site
• Continues to build competencies in manufacturing engineering, quality, procurement and industrial engineering and thereby further maturating the site and the organization
• Continuously develops and manages key suppliers
• Capable to develop and maintain a customer / supplier relationship with the internal customers within Marel
• Takes ownership of the transfer process for new equipment to be produced in Nitra
• Build and maintain a “Marel” culture in the local plant
• Manages the relation with the local government
• Member of the Regional Supply Chain Team and the site Management Team
• Reports to the regional head of Manufacturing
• Based in Nitra
To be successful in the position of Managing Director of our Nitra site you need to have proven and demonstrable experience in managing a production site, preferably in a capital goods industry You have a proven track record of improving manufacturing locations focusing on quality, productivity and profitability improvements. Next to that, you have a proven track record in operating in an international multi-cultural company.
Experience with developing and maintaining a relevant internal network is an absolute must. Just as change management skills.
Ideally, you have some basic experience with procurement and proven experience in operational purchasing.
Next to that, you have proven experience in working with innovation in product development processes and with multi-site sales & operations planning processes. You are familiar with the QRM philosophy and you have strong financial / budgeting experience in a manufacturing environment. If you are a practitioner of Lean Manufacturing or if you have a 6 Sigma certification, that's a plus.
As a person, you can be best described as a team player, team builder and a coach. On top of that, you have a strong personality and you are capable to discuss, decide and drive solutions. You possess a bachelors or master's degree in engineering or business administration.
Last but not least, you communicate in English, both speaking as well as writing as an expert. Basic communication skills in Slovakian are a strong preference, but the willingness to learn Slovakian is an absolute must.
