This job mainly contributes to an integral approach in these fields.
With your biomechanical expertise, you will contribute to projects in which numerical modelling of various aspects of human behavior play a vital role. Your role will typically consist of understanding the functions of vehicle safety systems and based on this determine what effect they will have on human performance.
You will be challenged to:
1. develop human models that can predict the risk of injury for a person in an imminent crash;
2. couple cognitive human behavior models to physical human behavior models in order to develop optimal integrated safety systems;
3. optimize advanced driver assistance systems by modelling the human as part of the partially automated vehicle’s control system.
· Technical university (MSc or PhD) in biomechanical or biomedical engineering, with a specialization in dynamics and control.A solid background in statistical methods relevant for capturing variations in human properties and behavior.
