Global Safety Information Management Manager / Sr. Global Safety Information Management Manager

The job
In this role you are responsible for improvement and maintenance of excellence in the area of Global Pharmacovigilance Information Management. You will report to the Global Pharmacovigilance Information Management Lead and will be a member of the Safety Information Management team. With this team you will contribute to the successful implementation and execution of the mission of the Global Pharmacovigilance department (GPV). You will be responsible for the operational support of all safety information systems and for generating validated queries, reports and signal detection runs, using global product safety adverse event data.
The position requires in-depth knowledge regarding the complexities and nuance of adverse event data to ensure the accuracy of regulatory submissions. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of effective collaborations with internal GPV key stakeholders and functions, as well as of relevant external stakeholders. In a more senior position you will also contribute to the development, implementation and successful execution of the GPV mission, objectives and 3-5 year strategic plan.
You will independently manage projects and work with cross-functional/global teams to develop and implement PV systems. In addition you will support an environment that enables each member of Safety Information Management Team to optimally operate in the matrix environment of Astellas and assist in training junior team members for appropriate growth in technical skills.

Your personal qualifications
• BA/BS in information technology or healthcare disciplineMinimum of 5 years experience (7 years for senior position) in the pharmaceutical industry, or a related industry, preferably in a global, highly matrixed, and multicultural organization
• Minimum of 3 years (5 years for senior position) experience developing adverse events database queries and reports
• SQL programming, Argus database experience
• Excellent communications skills with fluent English (spoken and written)
• Project management experience.
