Graduate Process Technology Engineer (m-f)
Location: Antwerp, full time (40 hours)
Bayer Antwerp is founded in 1961 as the first chemical company in the Northern part of the port of Antwerp and is the ‘Pioneer at the Schelde’. The company produces polymers and high-performance plastics for the sub-group Bayer MaterialScience. The products of Bayer Antwerp are used in all aspects of daily life. The top product is Polycarbonate (Makrolon®), from which CDs, DVDs, the roofing of stations, stadiums and greenhouses, parts of cars and computers, helmets and ski goggles,… are made.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a process technology engineer you optimize plant performance and support production operation. By continuously collecting know-how and improving technical knowledge you deliver state-of-the-art innovative solutions: you perform conceptual designs and feasibility studies and you develop new processes by scale-up in guiding lab and pilot plant studies towards a production scale design.
On the basis of your process know-how you also provide input in engineering projects ( e.g. plant equipment sizing and functional design of vessel-, column- and reactor internals). You cooperate with internal and external research departments and with equipment suppliers.
You work in international teams on local and international projects both for the Bayer group and for external clients.
You can support the world technology center of Bayer Makrolon® which is located in Antwerp.
You have a master degree in chemical engineering / process technology, or equivalent.
Through your studies you acquired deep fundamental understanding and broad technical knowledge in common process unit operations. You also learned how to use process flowsheeting as well as modelling and simulation of processes.
You speak and write English fluently.
