Right now, we're looking for people to join one of our fastest growing business units: Vodafone Group Enterprise. This role is to support our Cloud & Hosting business – Vodafone is a leading provider of dedicated, virtualised and multi-tenant cloud platforms. Vodafone Cloud & Hosting Services covers all aspects of data centre, server, security and storage infrastructure; from design and build to management and operation. Vodafone helps CIOs and IT departments reduce costs, focus their resources and drive business strategy.
In this role you will be required to build & implement complex network & security solutions, with responsibility for implementation, verification and documentation of solution; consult with and review the work of other engineers in related project areas; provide L3 operations support to live platforms.
This role is based in Germany but will require some travel to German datacentres, the UK and other Central Europe operating countries.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Works together with the Hosting Delivery Unit and Design teams to build, implement, deploy and support hosted solutions. To provide technical review and feedback on critical project input documentation. The resulting architecture and networks are scalable and adaptable enough to evolve with changing customer requirements.
- Understanding of Network and Security product best practices. Capable of debugging and resolving complex network problems. Well versed in multiple technology areas; continuously learning new skills where required.
- Own, maintain and develop Network and Security build documentation & configuration guides. Provide input to functional managers to define / refine group practice to meet team objectives.
- Provide technical impact assessments and coordinate with stakeholders for project based delivery of Network & Security planned changes, and service amendments, during the early life support phase for new Hosting Services.
- Demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, multitask and deliver timely and accurate work packages
Network & Security Engineer (Germany) Job Requirements
The Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working within a data centre environment, with a focus on the design, development and implementation of the local area network (LAN) and security.
Essential:
- Experience of managed services / web hosting environment.
- Firewalls – Checkpoint and Cisco ASA including virtualisation and Multi Context deployments
- Checkpoint Firewall 1 – nice to have
- Checkpoint Provider-1 NG – nice to have
- F5 & Cisco CSM/ACE Load Balancers
- Cisco Switch CatOS & IOS command set across C2960G / C3750(S) & 6500 Series
- Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Operating Systems
- Cisco Routers/Switches (past and current specifications)
- Must be fluent in both English and German language (written and spoken)
Desirable:- Bluecoat Proxy SG Build and Configuration experience
- Arcsight Loggers & GPG13 Build & Configuration experience
- Cisco IDS/IPS deployment experience
- Cisco Nexus Switch Build and Configuration experience
- Cisco Nexus, ISR, UCS Platform Build and Configuration experience.
- Cisco ACS, AAA & TACACS configuration experience
- Strong Experience within Datacentre environments
