BigRep is looking for experienced Mechanical Engineers who will drive and execute the development of our machinery. We are looking for highly skilled and experienced talents in the mechanical engineering fields who are eager to define the new manufacturing revolution with us. We are a young and ambitious startup, currently over 20 in staff, with big plans for the future, driven by the urge to find better, sustainable solutions for a demanding future. You will :
develop, implement and debug our portfolio of 3D Printing Machinery/ develop new concepts for 3D printing technologies and related applications/ create CAD-designs and Technical Drawings and build the related Prototypes/ optimize designs / engineering for cost effectiveness/ finalize designs for manufacturing/ mentor, delegate and review work assignments of junior team members/ report directly to the Founder & CTO
You need to have:
deep understanding of mechanical systems, especially drivetrain and automation components & machinery/ Dipl./MS mechanical engineering in the fields of automation and or machine-tool design/ min. 5 years working experience as a mechanical engineer with part and assembly design competence/ deep knowledge of modern manufacturing technologies : (CNC, Laser, Injection Molding,formed parts, etc.)/ deep knowledge of material characteristics, esp. Plastics, Metals/ deep knowledge about DIN Standard parts: screws, bolts, pins, clearance, tap, press fits / experiences with cnc, automation and motion system design, strong competence designing linear and rotary motion systems.
Good to have:
experience with SolidWorks, FEA tools/ good understanding of additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques/ knowledge of the electronics world, esp. machine-control systems, embedded systems/ access to a profound pool of real-life experiences about mechanical and material-properties, quickly grasp what works and what not without having to utilize FEM any time!/ real-world mechanical skills, you should be able to build prototypes physically!/ strong organizational skills/ share our vision of the possibilities of 3D Printin
