Field Application Engineer EMEA (m/f) Job Description

As an experienced, international Field Applications Engineer (FAE) you will be accountable for working directly with customers, providing and coordinating direct technical guidance, consulting and support relating to the use of Digi’s embedded products, wireless products and Device Cloud services in customer designs. The position is an integral part of the sales strategy, participating in the identification and qualification of new sales opportunities. The geographical focus will be EMEA.
   
   
Key Job Responsibilities:
 

• Act as primary technical liaison with the customer during the development phase
• Assist in driving revenue, as well as development of relationships with technical customer
• Provide customer training programs, and multi-level technical sales presentations as needed
• Work closely with our worldwide based engineering and product management teams

Field Application Engineer EMEA (m/f) Job Requirements

Primary Job Requirements:
 

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Strong knowledge in embedded operating systems like Linux, RTOS experience
  is a plus
• Strong Wireless expertise, especially with WiFi and ZigBee; cellular experience
  a plus
• Knowledgeable in various networking (PAN/LAN/WAN) principles, topologies and protocols
• Programming knowledge and experience in C/C++, Java is a must; Python and other languages a plus
• Familiarity with web service (SaaS and PaaS) and familiarity of supporting tools and methodologies is strongly preferred
• Experience in embedded system on chips (SoC), experience in embedded hardware development is a plus
• Excellent time management skills
• Good organizational capabilities
• Proven problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Fluent in two European languages including English.
