Lead Engineer Job Description

• As Lead Engineer you will be the main engineering resource in Belsim’s engineering projects and manage projects involving other engineers.
• The position of Lead Engineer reports to the CEO and the Director Sales and Marketing.
• You will develop a profound knowledge of the solutions in order to provide expert consulting services to internal and external clients regarding their use.
• As Lead Engineer you will use specific software to model equipment and processes, reconcile measurements, and evaluate equipment, process and production network performance.

Lead Engineer Job Requirements

• You have a University degree in Engineering – preferably Petroleum, Chemical or Process Engineering - and are legally authorised to work in Belgium.
• In addition, you have more than 10 years experience in project execution and management in a Computer Aided Process Engineering area.
• You also have a minimum of 5 years experience as process or production engineer, preferably in the energy sector. You have worked at least 4 years in a project work environment, managing project and/or customer relationships.
• As Lead Engineer you are willing to work in a French speaking environment, but fluently spoken and written English is mandatory.
• Your communication and presentation skills are excellent and you always represent Belsim in a dignified and professional way.  You foster multi-directional communication in your collaborators by actively engaging them in the exchange of information.
• You are a reliable, energetic, well-organised and rigorous team player with a positive mindset, inspiring optimism and confidence.  You are flexible, creative and committed, ready to assume responsibility.
• As Lead Engineer you have a high level of integrity and are recognised for your exceptional expertise and leadership.
• You act as an entrepreneur, exhibiting strong leadership, initiative and courage, in an autonomous and responsible way, setting ambitious individual objectives that are in line with Belsim’s corporate targets.
• Your outstanding people skills allow you to work respectfully with colleagues and clients who may have a different cultural background.  You actively listen to them, avoid judgement and integrate their points of view where possible.
