Experienced Project / Bid Manager North Africa Job Description

YOUR FUNCTION
 
You will be a part of the division International Operations – Overseas Department - active in Oil, Gas & Energy projects and located in Grimbergen.

As a PROJECT MANAGER you will be the responsible for the project: the follow up, safe and timely execution, budget and people management aspects of the project. You are the single point of contact for the client during the execution of the contract. 

As a BID MANAGER you will be responsible for the tenders follow-up.
You will work on international projects in the Oil, Gas & Energy industry in the region of Algeria. 
 
YOUR TASKS:
 

• Analyse the initial invitation to bid and inform the Management on the scope, necessary resources, estimating budget, etc. in order to prepare a first risk assessment and to make an informed decision whether or not to bid for the contract.
• Participate at client information meetings to gather all necessary information and after bid submission defend the proposal and the decisions/options taken in the proposal.
• Select and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
• Propose and discuss the offers with the division & commercial management in order to decide on the strategy and content of the final proposal.
• Manage the data transfer from bid phase to project execution and if necessary prepare and participate at clarification / kick-off meetings with the client
• Optimise the estimating process by introducing new tools and by streamlining the estimation process within Cofely Fabricom Oil, Gas & Power.
• Realisation of the contracts, define the project team, select and mobile all required resources
• Management of the planning, project team, quality and safety, performance and financial result
• Represent Cofely Fabricom during negotiations with the client during the execution of the contract
• Manage the project team in Belgium for the Algerian activities

Experienced Project / Bid Manager North Africa Job Requirements

• Master in Engineering / Electromechanical
• Minimum 5 years of proven project experience in a pre-sales industrial project environment
• Willingness to go abroad (Algeria) for approx. 2 week per month for the next 2 years. When leading a concrete project: possibility to go 4 weeks to Algeria and 1 week off in Belgium.
• Thorough knowledge of Electricity & Instrumentation activities within Construction Projects
• Other knowledge (piping, mechanical, automation) is an asset
• Analytical & structured approach with focus on financial impact
• Decision Maker
• Excellent communication & presentation skills
• Leadership skills: Coach the team
• Trilingual: French/English/Dutch
