Production Manager - Bare Shaft Pumps Job Description

The Production Manager manages the machining of parts and assembly of bare shaft pumps in the proper sequence, location and quantity while meeting company objectives and policies related to safety, budget, on time delivery, quality, cost reduction, continuous improvement and cash flow.

The Production Manager for the EPO Group in Etten-Leur reports to the Manufacturing Manager. Direct reports are: Supervisor Heavy Components Manufacturing, Supervisor Rotor Manufacturing, Foreman Pump Assembly and Outsourcing Coordinators.

• The function requires the support of and contact with general management, all Flowserve departments, customers, inspection agencies and cooperate auditors. The Production Manager works closely with the Parts Manufacturing Centre and the Service & Repair department.Effectively lead and control the Bare Shaft Pump department in the proper sequence, with the right machining and quantity in accordance with company objectives and policies related to budget, on time delivery, quality, cost reduction, continuous improvement, cash flow, health, safety and environment;
• Manage machine planning and outsource machining (internal or external) activities in line with quality standards and regarding on time delivery;
• Coordinate and evaluate non-conformity reports (NCR`s), engineering change notes of pump components, assemblies and the initiation of quality improvement projects in cooperation with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain and Engineering;
• Capacity planning to assure a proper and efficient allocation of resources to meet company goals;
• Set, define and monitor department Key Performance Indicators to ensure company goals are met;
• Develop and implement a short and long-term department capital investment plan;
• Initiate and lead Lean Manufacturing Improvement projects;
• Develop a preventive maintenance program to improve productivity, reliability of machinery and equipment within budget;
• Define Key Performance Indicators with the Supply Chain department regarding lead time, quality and cost related to outsourcing suppliers;
• Provide support for change and motivate direct reports to challenge work collaboratively to improve work methods and approaches;
• Drive the team to high performance by setting and communicate individual and department goals and objectives;
• Develop and maintain high standards of housekeeping and improve health safety and environment activities.

Production Manager - Bare Shaft Pumps Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
• Green Belt certified;
• A minimum of 10 years working experience in machining and assembly of engineered components;
• Management experience in manufacturing;
• Knowledge of Quality Management - ISO 9001;
• Fluent in Dutch and English;
• Good oral and written communication skills;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
