Mechanical Engineer Job Description

You are responsible for optimizing and maintaining the poultry processing production systems of Marel. You do this by working as a design engineer on your own. It involves preserving specifications for standard machines and a certain degree of special engineering of a large diversity of existing high-quality systems. You will receive ideas for product optimization internally from Manufacturing, Assembly, R&D and externally from the work field. As Marel takes care of manufacturing and assembly in- house, you will immediately see your work again in the field. Having worked with the technology in detail for a number of years, you will progress to the position of group leader. In this role you will coordinate the work of a group of design engineers. You will report to the Manager Engineering. 

Mechanical Engineer Job Requirements

• You have a completed higher preparatory education (HBO) or university education in Mechanical Engineering;
• You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the food industry;
• You have experience working with a 3D CAD system, preferably with Pro-E, and with PDM systems;
• You have affinity with design in stainless steel sheet metal and plastic;
• You are analytically inclined and you can plan and organize well;
• You possess the ambition to progress to a managing role.
