For the current project we are looking for candidates who will work on Microfluidic devices for personalized cancer therapy. Circulating tumour cells (CTCs) will be isolated from blood and characterized for both, drug sensitivity and genetic markers for resistance. This will allow the development of optimized personalized therapies and should help to get mechanistic insights into tumour evolution.
The successful candidate will have an appointment in the group of Christoph Merten (www.embl.de/research/units/genome_biology/merten) and hence have the ability to learn a variety of novel methods in the fields of microfluidics, soft lithography and cancer biology.
