An exciting Production Management and Change Management role for a major organization
AkzoNobel is a leading global paints and coatings company and a major producer of specialty chemicals. We supply industries and consumers worldwide with innovative products and are passionate about developing sustainable answers for our customers.
AkzoNobel Industrial Chemicals (ANIC) is a major global producer of vacuum salt and a leading producer of chlor-alkali products, caustic lye and derivatives like monochloroacetic acid (MCA). As such, ANIC is essential to the chemical, detergent, construction, food, pulp and paper, and plastics industries.
We are currently optimizing the sub-business unit (sBU) Salt Specialties within the framework of sBU strategy, vision, policies and overall budget guidelines. To play a central role in this process we currently seek a highly pro-active and effective
Production Manager
You core function in this role is to design the manufacturing plan for the sBU at our Hengelo plant in the Netherlands. Once the plan has been validated, you communicate and implement it in line with sBU strategy, objectives, targets, improvements and investments.
You will be joining a multinational and multicultural organization that is committed to your personal and professional growth.
Responsibilities and deliverables
Within this context you are responsible for quantity, quality and efficiency of production (drying/sieving, Librox and packaging) and meeting agreed targets.
Thus you select the tools for monitoring and improving performance, ensuring the realization and integration of improvement projects, investment initiatives and all working processes, structures and systems.
Key to this is steering and leading the adoption of Lean Program processes.
To achieve this you work together with Plant Maintenance Manager and with a Continuous Improvement Manager to pro-actively propose corrective actions. You also participate in Plant MT meetings and actively support other departments in achieving their results.
As Area Manager you are responsible for executing emergency response procedures. When necessary, you stand in for the Plant Manager and assume operational HSE responsibilities. You pro-actively pursue continuous QHSE performance improvement.
At all times you ensure that Salt Specialties is compliant with regulations e.g. Warenwet, Arbowet and applicable laws (document compliance management).
As a leader, you create and enhance a culture of taking both a personal and shared responsibility for departmental and sBU results. This involves a clear focus on results and sticking to agreements as you stimulate active and creative cooperation with, and support for, other departments.
This requires you to maintain an environment that is open, based on mutual respect, and challenging and rewarding for employees. You actively pursue the development of employees in their existing roles or in terms of helping them to grow into new roles.
Candidate profile
To apply for this position you must meet all the following criteria:
