FMEA Expert (MSc)
Job Description
Responsible for reliability of Mechatronic systems and components, within the restrictions imposed by system specifications, costs and planning considerations. Providing guidance to project teams regarding qualification of mechatronic systems and components at manufacturing time. Analysis of design concepts and existing designs in order to realize customer-specified operational reliability, using knowledge of reliability engineering and other methodologies (keywords: FMEA, MTBI, Weibull), and recommend corrective actions when required, in cooperation with reliability engineers of other departments. Assist mechatronics designers in root cause failure analysis for issues that occur regarding reliability to avoid future failures, and document the derived lessons learned in practical guidelines for future usage. Assist mechatronics designers to set up the design and production qualification for complete mechatronic modules, including the breakdown across Bill of Material until the level of under laying parts which are developed by other departments.
Educational Level
MSc in mechanical/electronic engineering or similar.
Experience
At least 4 years practical experience with electrical and mechanical engineering including reliability engineering and qualification. Also candidates with less experience but with dedicated reliability engineering education are invited to apply. Experience in multidisciplinary project work.
Personal skills
Team player with excellent communication and writing skills in English. Customer focus, both analytical and practical skills, flexible attitude and commitment are key for this role. Strong analytical ability with a pragmatic attitude, perfect communicational skills and good knowledge of English, able to display a “helicopter”-view, meticulous, perseverance, pro active, creative, can manage multiple projects at the same time, very good ability to handle stress and dealing with deadlines, flexible.
