(FP-13) Researcher - Photonic Integrated Circuits Job Description

The Photonics Centre at the Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork invites applicants who will join established teams within the Photonic Centre, will carry out research in purpose-built photonic and microelectronic systems research facilities at Tyndall National Institute and will be involved in collaboration with other groups in Tyndall and elsewhere. Training opportunities will be provided to acquire additional experimental, circuit design and numerical research skills as appropriate.

Responsibilities
The candidate will need to take on a leadership in existing research contracts, as well as develop research contracts on their own.
 
They should be able to lead in the development of high speed photonic integrated circuits and subsystems.

Required Skills and Experience
Experience in: high speed simulation tools ADS and HFSS, mathematical based mask design for PIC development, and high speed photonic device design and characterization.
 
The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in either high speed design or photonic design.
 
The preferred candidate will have experience in both areas.
 
The candidate should have a PhD in Engineering or Physics.
