The Microelectronic Circuits Centre Ireland is a national Irish research centre in microelectronic circuits hosted in Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork.  With over thirty researchers, MCCI carries out world-class research with 23 company partners including Analog Devices, Intel and Boston Scientific.  MCCI is focused on solving the grand challenges of Analog circuit scaling in deep-sub-micron technology nodes and is already working in 28nm CMOS and FD-SOI.  The MCCI vision is to be the number one industry-led analogue-mixed-signal research centre in the world by 2018.  MCCI is now hiring research assistants, masters students, PhD students and a senior research fellow in microelectronic circuits.   www.mcci.ie

 Microelectronic Circuits Centre Ireland - Analogue Mixed-Signal Research Fellow Job Description:
 
Microelectronic Circuits Centre Ireland is hiring an Analogue Mixed-Signal Research Fellow who will report to the MCCI Core Team Principal Investigator with the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the Microelectronic Circuits Centre Ireland research projects including supervision and mentoring of staff and driving the technical direction of the projects in collaboration with industry partners.
  • To carry out innovative research in Analogue Mixed-Signal integrated circuit design driving new and original research initiatives in the Microelectronic Circuits Centre Ireland.
  • To generate world-beating research outputs including Intellectual Property for commercialisation as well as publications in leading conferences and journals such as ISSCC, ESSCIRC, CICC and JSSC.
  • To attract research staff in order to build world-class industry-focused Analogue Mixed-Signal research projects.
  • To assist the MCCI Operations Manager and MCCI Principal Investigator with new project definitions for the core team targeting new private and public funding in order to increase the scale of the group.
 

(MB-03) Analogue Mixed-Signal Research Fellow Job Requirements

Microelectronic Circuits Centre Ireland - Analogue / Mixed-Signal Principal Investigator Experience and Qualifications:
 

  • Demonstrated excellence in Analogue or Mixed-signal integrated circuits research is essential with a minimum of 8 years post-graduate experience.
  • A PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering is essential, ideally in the area of Analogue Mixed-Signal integrated circuit design. 
  • Significant patents and/or publications in IEEE peer-reviewed integrated circuits journals and conferences are essential.
  • A track record of innovation and breakthroughs in the state-of-the-art for high speed transceivers, power management or data-converters is highly desirable.
  • Experience working on leading edge research projects with goals changing according to industry demands is desirable.
  • Experience leading projects and attracting talent to actively grow a research team is desirable.
