Body Systems Lead Engineer Job Description

Position Description:
The Body Systems Lead Engineer is in charge of carrying out the design, development and release of body systems, with particular expertise on seals, mechanisms, wipers, glazing and mirrors. The role includes supervising activities related to body systems within the body group. The body system lead engineer will lead a team of designers, giving the guidelines to get a project completed within target performances, costs and time, checking the results. The person is responsible for the correct release of the parts in the system and supporting the other departments of the company with appropriate reporting.
Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Similar role at OEM or Tier 1 level,
• CAD background Management of staff,
• Body Engineering and systems/mechanisms background
• Knowledge of CATIA V5 & MS Office suite
• Body systems engineering background
• Adaptable, proactive, team player, motivated, focused on problem solving,
• Liaison with testing areas and assembly line are required

• Perform root cause analysis on body systems related problems.
• Current open issues are:
  • Evora mirror vibration Elise
  • Exige sealing issues
  • Evora door noises
  • Evora glass gapping
• Define if possible to have quick fixes / temporary solutions for the above problems
• Create and actuate the action plan for the above issues
• Follow the validation testing and release the new solution for Evora latch
• Define long term solutions for the above issues, liaise with suppliers, and create an action plan.
