Advanced Engineer Job Description
As Advanced Engineer, you are responsible for the realization of technical concept designs for our roof systems in an early stage. Innovation, technical performance, marketability, cost effectiveness and minimizing technical risks are key words in this process. In this position, you are located in the Global Advanced Technology Department. The Global Advanced Technology Department is the source of all future technology developments for our global product portfolio. They are the engineering partner that supports our company on global scale and continuously think ahead to ensure our position as an Innovative Leader!
What do you do as Advanced Engineer?
- Develop progressive technical concepts that will result in market advantage;
- Guard the technical feasibility, manufacturability and marketability during the process;
- Use roadmaps in order to set specific targets with regard to design specifications;
- Work in close cooperation with Product Planning in order to make a first translation from designs to technical specifications;
- Give advice with regard to the strategy for future design specifications;
- Design based on design specifications in accordance with the functional specifications;
- Close cooperation with Advanced Engineers in order to optimize the design for maximum performance and quality against most efficient costs;
- Delegate, control and verify the input from others.
Advanced Engineer Job Requirements
What do we expect from you?
- You have a finished degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering on a BsC or MsC and you have a strong affinity with Industrial Design.
- At least 5 years of work experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- We do expect you to have knowledge of technical opportunities, limitations and costs of different technologies.
- As a professional you focus on quality and long term perspective. You have strong analytical skills and a creative mindset. In your work you are able to provide consultancy, coaching and transfer knowledge to other engineers.
- The job requires a good command of the English and German language. Dutch is a plus.
