Our client is an international consultancy specializing in providing high quality research and analysis to the energy industry. There is currently an excellent opportunity for a Senior Technology Specialist to join their Business Support team in Edinburgh. The primary purpose of the Senior Technology Specialist is to support the Energy and Metals research teams by taking a key role in the design, development and maintenance of database systems.

The Senior Technology Specialist should be familiar with the key technologies used by the company, including MS Access, Oracle database, Microsoft SQL Server, Reporting Services, Office Writer and C#. You will be required to analyse and critically assess specific software solutions, and work closely alongside other teams to ensure that they successfully implement requirements.

Senior Technology Specialist Job Requirements

Requirements:
·         Proven management and leadership skills
·         Background in software development, design and implementation
·         Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Access onwards user interface form design and development, Microsoft Access VBA, and SQL Server database management systems using SQL Server 2005 and t-sql stored procedures is essential
·         Good understanding of ORACLE databases using minimum 9i, PL/SQL
·         Understanding of the Energy and Metals industry desirable
